Age and growth of the Hemri, Carasobarbus luteus in Karkheh River, Southwestern Iran were estimated for 210 individuals (89 males, 107 females and 14 immature) captured between July 2010 and July 2011. Male to female ratio was 0.83 to 1. The age of females ranged from 0+ to 6+ years and of males from 0+ to 5+ years. Total length and total weight ranged from 75 to 290 mm and 5.6 to 341 g, respectively. The length–weight relationship was W = 0.0152 L2.9293 for males and W = 0.0185 L2.857 for females. Growth of Hemri was expressed by von Bertalanffy’s equation as Lt = 31.78 (1 – e–0.16 (t + 0.35)) for males and Lt = 8.34 (1 – e–0.23 (t + 0.44)) for females.
